According to
Shacknews.com, although I'm not yet ready to confirm it because it sounds almost too good to be true, the newest installment of the popular Guitar Hero series will be getting a boat load of new features.
The first big addition (which wouldn't be too unfamiliar to Rock Band owners) is the use of multiple instruments. The instruments include (according to source) the guitar, a drum kit and a bass guitar.
Another new addition that Rock Band fans will already be accustomed with is the inclusion of vocals. Put simply, you can sing your favorite songs as well as play along with them.
The newest addition however (I remind you all again this is unconfirmed) that you can make your own tracks, customize them, make an album art and send them to people online. However, the only thing you can't customize is the vocals, for obvious reasons. Whats more is that the source claims
"Users will apparently be able to upload and share songs on all platforms", which means the
Wii version will not be inferior to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions in terms of features. It also further proves that the
Wii NEEDS an external storage device.
Neversoft also commented on what bands you can expect to see in this new title, with bands such as Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime making the cut. Neversoft stated further that
"all songs within the game will be master tracks provided by record labels".
This is looking to be a welcome and worthy jump forward for the series. The source seems to be true, but we'll know the truth when Activision makes it announcements in a week or so.
Guitar Hero IV is coming to the
Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Playstation 2 this holiday season.
