Surprise surprise. It seems that the 3D Sonic developer, Sonic Team, will not have any roll in developing the
Wii version of the new Sonic Unleashed game. Instead, it seems that Dimps, the team behind Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure will be in charge.
In addition, it seems that the
Wii version will be much different than it's Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 counterparts. It will use a different engine, feature different levels, elements to the game play and to much surprise, be focusing mostly on the 2-Dimensional game play. This means there is a good chance we'll be seeing a 2D Sonic game for the
Wii.
For those who may not like idea, this may end up being a better investment than the 3D Sonic, especially after witnessing the last few lackluster Sonic games on the home consoles.
Sonic Unleashed is coming to the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and
Wii.
