Nintendo Europe’s managing director Laurent Fischer recently responded to
Wii owners asking for more storage space by saying "only geeks and otaku want a
Wii hard drive". This caused a lot of anger amongst the hardcore
Wii owners and even God of War creator David Jaffe. But now, Laurent Fischer has issued an official apology.
"I have huge respect for those who, like me, share a common passion for Nintendo, and want to make it clear that I would never use and didn't use this terminology in such a context or way to cause offense."
Well what did he expect? It's not like you can expect us to take something like that on the chin, especially when Nintendo seem to be avoiding fixing this problem. Hopefully Iwata's comments about a storage solution were true. We shall find out at E3 in July.
