Today, we've been hearing complaints from every Nintendo
Wii owner that the memory on the
Wii console is terrible. With only 512Mb of flash memory,
Wii owners can only limit themselves to a few Virtual Console and WiiWare games, which today, many
Wii owners are spending all of their money on. Unless they have an SD card, which can be up to 2GB of memory. Although SD cards are expensive these days. Around the net, we've been hearing numeral rumors about Nintendo making an external storage device for the Nintendo
Wii. Today, Nintendo
Wii owners can finally throw away those SD cards, and begin to embrace a wonderful journey of virtual console games, because Laurent Fischer [currently working at Nintendo of America] has confirmed, today, that Nintendo is in fact
"working on a solution".
Within the articles that you may of read on this site, you may know about the discussion between the term
"otaku and geeks". It really brought many gamers into a huge 'fight'. Laurent Fisher finally wanted to put an end to this feisty argument. He stated in a recent interview,
"we definitely detect that they [gamers] are serious and we know there is an issue in this, so it's something that we're working on," to GamesIndustry.biz. But Fischer poured cold water on rumors - stemming from recent hints dropped by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata - that the company was planning an external solution.
"Definitely there's no plan to issue hardware, an external hard drive, but we know that we have an issue in that area," he added.
"It's very obvious and we're perfectly aware of it, but there's nothing we can say beyond this."
During E3 2008 [this year], we will most likely hear more about this external storage device for the Nintendo
Wii. I can promise everyone that this E3 will be promising and exciting for Nintendo fanboys.
