Datel: No Freeloader for Wii Update 3.3.

Datel: No Freeloader for Wii Update 3.3.

After the latest Wii System Update was released, Freeloader discs were dubbed unusable on the updated consoles. Finally, Datel has issued a response to this and unfortunately it seems that the Freeloader disc has been silenced once and for all.

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control Wii Freeloader is not compatible with Wii firmware 3.3 and higher (released as an online update 17/06/2008). You can continue to use Wii Freeloader perfectly with any Wii console running firmware 3.2 and below."

So if you updated your Wii recently and you are looking into a Freeloader disc, you are out of luck. For those who don't know, Freeloader allows Wii consoles to play Wii games from any region in the world by disabling the consoles region lock.

It's stupid, too. Why do we even have region blocks? Handheld consoles don't have them!

About time Nintendo nerfed it. It's still a shame though, there is a lot of people out there who are willing to pay an extra couple of bucks to buy these freeloaders and imports.

What I don't understand is, WHY is Nintendo trying to stop people from importing the games? Even if they do import them, people will still be paying the full retail price.

Congratulations Nintendo, you screwed up again!

Harken, Nintendo did this to stop homebrew, and it was all Datel's fault because the Freeloader discs used the same bug as the TP hack, so they deserved it . . .
Anways, there's a new TP hack, not even a week later, lulz.
