If you've been hearing news about Call of Duty 5 [actually entitled Call of Duty: World at War] then you may know that game setting is heading back to World War II. Alongside with that, Infinity Ward will not be developing this title. Infinity Ward has developed the much proclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a title for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, in which has sold more than Halo 3. Call of Duty: World at War will be developed by Treyarch, for the Nintendo
Wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Below is an interview with the senior producer of Treyarch Noah Heller. He solemnly believes that Call of Duty: World at War will be the best shooter game for the Nintendo
Wii. Alongside with that statement, he also states that online co-op/multiplayer is confirmed, along with
Wii Zapper support, and a few more exciting details that will be revealed soon.
"It is the Modern Warfare engine ported to Wii. Not some special thing - we'll be showing it soon. I think it looks better than any Wii game on the market so far. It's a special team at Treyarch focused specifically on the Wii - it's not some outsourced team, not some group living in another country. These guys live, eat and breathe Wii".
"They're doing a lot of control work and developing a lot of special technology to make sure that you're able to find the enemy as quickly as possible. We'll be supporting the Zapper, which is very challenging in CoD because you've got three buttons when you're using the Zapper".
"We've got a unique co-op mode and we'll support multiplayer. This is going to be easily the best shooter on Wii".
Below is another quote from a recent interview with Noah Heller, again.
“It’s going to look better than any Wii game I’ve ever seen on the market. For all intents and purposes it’s the same game. (As 360/PS3 version). This will easily the best shooter on the Wii.”
