EA gets serious... with... board games?

EA gets serious... with... board games?

First we had puzzle games on the Virtual Console, then we had Jenga, then we had even more puzzle games on the Virtual Console. Now, we get six more games that bring our childhood memories to a video game console. The games included in EA's Hasbro Family Game Night are: Battleship, Connect Four, Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry, and a related game, Sorry Sliders.

Of course, the game in it's self is nothing to be wowed from, since they are after-all board games you've played before. And of course, EA has added in some fancy twists to the game play of some games. But if you're like me and prefer the boring originals, you can always do that too.

Along with the current game line-up, a Q&A over at Joystiq leaves me to think that Risk will be joining it's board game counterparts.

Joystiq: "Well, that seems like a no-brainer for an online game. Why aren't you guys making that?"
EA: "We've been having some very interesting discussions about that title in the office."
Joystiq: "Hrmmmmm..."
EA: *silence*
Who knows, maybe this could turn out to be fun. But since they are board games, I'm hoping to see a price around $20 to $30. After all, I could just go play the games in my basement for free. Another way to look at this is the games will probably have computer players, so for you only-child gamers, you might get to experience some new games.

Well, instead of making us only children play by ourselves with the computers, EA should make it online so we can actually get the feel of playing a real person.

I might buy it. If no one is looking.

Actually, I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't mind it if someone gave it to me as a gift. :3

This sort of thing really should only be WiiWare titles though.
