Recently today, Nintendo has sent out a press release for the anticipated Nintendo
Wii baseball game
"Mario Super Sluggers" in which described many details about the game and an official North American release date.
In 2005, Mario Superstar Baseball released on the Nintendo GameCube. Mario Superstar baseball brought Nintendo fanboys a sportive baseball game in which they can play and compete by using their loveable Nintendo icons. This included Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Toad, and many more. Like any other baseball game, your main 'objective' was to swing you baseball bat, and score as many hits as possible. The team with the most points wins. But theirs a little twist to it. Alongside, you have the 'power' to unleash a dangerous, yet powerful hit or throw. This power creates an effect that makes it impossible to catch the ball, and to swing. Mario Super Sluggers gives you the same experience, but with a whole new control scheme to it. The whole gameplay is ideally the same. You try to earn as many points as possible. You have a roster of over 30 recognizable Nintendo icons. From Mario to Birdo. Alongside, the controls are the main attraction in this game. Using the
Wii remotes motion sensitivity capabilities, you are able to use the
Wii remote as a baseball bat, and pitching glove. To swing, you swing the
Wii remote as the ball comes towards you. To throw, you basically perform a throwing motion. The harder you throw it, the faster the ball will go.
Sadly, there is no online multiplayer whatsoever. Although, you will still have plenty of fun playing by yourself, and with your friends.
Mario Super Sluggers is currently being released, in North America, on August 25th for the Nintendo
Wii.
