Thanks to its innovative design and wealth of fantastic games, the Nintendo
DS has scrambled to the top of the handheld gaming war, making the hardware wizards at Nintendo the darlings of the games industry. Today, nearly 80 million units have been sold worldwide and the system is still as sensation. It’s been nearly four years since the original
DS was released.
But what if Nintendo doesn't hold a patent on their touchy tech?
As reported by video game blog Gamepolitics, John R. Martin claims that he owns the patent on the Nintendo Dual Screen's touch screen as he filed a complaint. The patent was last updated in August 2005 six months after Nintendo launched the new handheld.

The quote seems to describe the handheld god well besides the gambling part. Nintendo, however, doesn't see the connection and has responded by requesting that the entire law suit should be summarily dismissed.
Earlier this year, Nintendo was accused with a Patent infringement from Anascape over several of theirs controllers including their famous wireless controller called the Wavebird. They ended up losing a huge amount of money, 21 million dollars to be exact. People seem to do anything for money these days and huge companies like Nintendo are the ones to suffer....
