Mii Channel clone created for Popcorn Arcade games. - 07-11-08

Every once in a while in business, you will notice that companies with similar products will get ideas off each other and expand on them. This has been happening in gaming since the Atari days when the first joy stick was born. However, some safe to ignore companies choose to not only use another...

Re: Mii Channel clone created for Popcorn Arcade games.

I've heard a lot about Data Design. Their the ones who made those TERRIBLE games for the Wii that already came out for the PS2. They even have a racing game that copyed one of the courses from Mario kart DS. I'm surpise there actually doing this. Data Design is one of (if not worst) developers I ever seen.

:P

I couldn't care less if some company wants to make a poorly made Mii clone. That's great for the 12 people who actually buy the "game."

Well, I for one am not going to pick up Crazy Mini Golf, so this gets a big fat "ripoff."
What's with The Great and Mighty Poo? He looks pretty ticked.

The downside to business. Companies take ideas from other companies, people take ideas from other people. It's just the sad fact of society today. Nobody has originality anymore :/

Though I have to admit, it does look better than the Mii's. Except their freakishly, alien-like, long arms. xO

Re: Mii Channel clone created for Popcorn Arcade games.

Though the Miis have limited customizing abilities, it MAKES you be more creative. For the 'Check Mii Out' Channel, the winner of the Mona Lisa contest actually the Mii's face a portrait of Mona. The fact it came out so well is unbelievable.

Not saying customization is bad.... just that the Miis make you think in order to come up with a design--certainly not a bad thing.

Also, it looks almost exactly like the Mii channel... talk about a rip-off x.x
I do certainly hope the Great Mighty Poo throws his **** at Data Design, and rams the NuYu's head up his butt.. (Corny yes (..wow... another pun if you've played the game x.x)
Beside, NuYu just sounds stupid.

Wow. That is an exact clone. I'm fine when companies copy ideas and change them (hopefully for the better), but this I'm not ok with.

This has to be one of the worst 3rd party game companies ever.

I like the idea of adding clothing to them, some of the features look a little better.
I still think the mii's are the best though.

Re: Mii Channel clone created for Popcorn Arcade games.

I think Nintendo should also let you actually draw your own Mii instead of them choosing the faces, clothes and stuff but they can keep that still I really don`t care.I hope we can create a Avatar`s symbol or a Mii symbol(think of its as a emblem).I also hope we can buy Mii accessories at the WiiShopChannel because that will be great and if Nintendo do upload them.:)

Re: Mii Channel clone created for Popcorn Arcade games.

I agree with skiddz2.

There is no exclusitvity to the personal avatar market. Its nintendo's bad for denying rights to the mii channel. Maybe they'll think twice about it now. I would say that as long as whatever company that wants to use the channel cuts ole ninty a slice, and makes sure that they put up any necessary disclaimers/nonassociation notices/etc then it should be all good.
