Every once in a while in business, you will notice that companies with similar products will get ideas off each other and expand on them. This has been happening in gaming since the Atari days when the first joy stick was born. However, some safe to ignore companies choose to not only use another businesses idea, but choose to make an exact clone of it. The worst part is, this isn't Microsoft or Sony we are talking about, it's the well known developer behind such bargain bin hits as Ninjabread Man and Rock and Roll Adventures. Data Design gives "NuYu".
Thats right, coming to a Popcorn Arcade game near you is the all new NuYu service. This unique service allows you to create an avatar of yourself to use in some of Data Designs upcoming
Wii titles, such as Kidz Sports – Crazy Mini Golf. You can add hair, facial features, edit eyes, noses, mouths and even name them. However, you can't change the freakishly long arms the NuYu's have.
Now call me crazy, but I am willing to bet that Data Design has done this because Nintendo won't give them the rights to utilize the Mii Channel, and they have perfectly good reason for this too. I'm amazed that Nintendo are going to allow this on their system. I seriously hope this doesn't happen, it would be a step back for Nintendo and the
Wii.
Unlike Sony using rumble and Microsoft supposedly making a motion sensitive controller, THIS IS something Nintendo can and should sue over.
