A couple of days ago, I posted an article about a newly accessory for the Nintendo
Wii remote. This accessory was called
“Wii MotionPlus”. Wii MotionPlus is an accessory for the Nintendo
Wii remote, which is slipped to the bottom of the
Wii remote, which gives more quick and accurate reflecting motions in a 3-D space.
Wii MotionPlus gives players precision and immersion for games. Just from a little movement, the
Wii MotionPlus can track that little motion. Either it's from a little shake in the wrist, or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their gameplay. It was said that
Wii MotionPlus was to be included in the Nintendo Press Conference at E3.
Wii MotionPlus was introduced more detailed to the gaming community. To introduce this wonderful piece of ‘hardware’, a new
Wii Sports game was introduced in which would use the
Wii MotionPlus. The new title is called
“Wii Sports Resort”.
If you can get the hint from the title, the setting of the game is set outside at the beach area. Reggie Fills-Ami introduced three games that will be included in
Wii Sports Resort. One was a Frisbee throwing game with a dog. Using the
Wii MotionPlus, you can accurately turn your arm, elbow, or wrist to a 1:1 response time giving out the best accurate gameplay any systems has to offer. You’d simply use a throwing motion to throw the Frisbee, and your canine friend would go a get the Frisbee. The second game was Jet Skiing. You use the
Wii remote and the Nunchuck as a ‘steering wheel’ and begin turning as if you were on a jet ski on water. You had to go through obstacles in the water. And finally, there was sword fighting. You are battling with a friend on an American Gladiator like arena and you must slice your enemy off the edge of the arena and into the water below. Using your
Wii remote as a sword, you can slice in any direction you’d like. The
Wii MotionPlus makes this game a more challenging game. You can also dodge with the
Wii remote.
Wii Sports Resort and the
Wii MotionPlus will be bundled together for March 2009.
