However, he's completely right. While saying the Wii 'owes' it's success to the PS brand is definitely not the right way to phrase it, the Xbox 360 and the Wii, and even more so the Gamecube and the Xbox, wouldn't be what they are were it not for the PS.
It's the other way around as well though, while everything I said above is true, the PS wouldn't be what it was without the N64, the Dreamcast, everything. Everyone takes other's ideas and adds on to them. Really, every console owes it's success to the Atari, do they not? PSN wouldn't be what it is if Xbox Live hadn't happened, the Xbox wouldn't have happened at all had PS never been invented, etc, etc, etc.
