Yes you heard right, Nintendo aren't the only ones giving Australia hell with game delays. Harmonix's somewhat popular Rock Band title has yet to be released in Australia, and if a claim made by EB Games is to be believed, it won't release here any time soon.
The Australian EB Games website has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band will retail for $119 for the stand alone game plus $109 for one guitar or $218 for both the guitar and bass, and another $169 for the drum kit. Now if my calculator on my PC is to believed, that adds up to a whopping $506AUD. For those playing at home, thats enough to buy an Xbox 360 Pro console with two platinum games. Luckily for the Australian buyers however, it seems that retailers are refusing to stock the game due to not only the overwhelming price, but the fact that the game has been delayed so long.
It is also worth noting that releasing Rock Band this close to the release of Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour would be a total waste. Unless Harmonix lower the price, the sequel probably won't reach Australia either. Any Australian's waiting for this title might be better off hanging out for Guitar Hero World Tour.
