From Line Rider 2 to N+, it's easy to say that the
DS should change it's name to "Pocket PC". I mean, it seems that not a month goes by without a release of a computer game on the popular platform. Now, Empire Interactive plans to add another game to the list with a little tactical strategy title by the name of Jagged Alliance.
Being a Mac owner my whole life, I never heard of this Windows series until now, but here's the information that I gathered about it.
For one thing, the franchise is known for having a focus on a bunch of mercenaries, so it's much more Fire Emblem than Advance Wars. On top of that, you can mix the characters up however you like, and they'll have a different "AI" depending on how you play them.
You STILL have a few goons that work for you, though. That's why you're encouraged not to kill off your forces. If these guys see that you're not being responsible with your supplies, then they won't join.
Anyway, here's what the guys over at Empire Interactive have to say about the change in platform:

Jagged Alliance provides an exciting blend of RPG and turn based action, which has already won fans and accolades worldwide. It's the right time to bring the frenetic battles to Nintendo DS and offer a new generation of players an exhilarating game play experience

Whether this game is a hit with the mainly-puerile
DS audience is beyond me, but I guess we'll have to see how this turns out.
