im dissapointed =[. im a big fan on the metroid series as it was my first ever game! metroid 2 for gameboy. since then i have got or at least played every metroid game as it has a cool feel to it. an fps where the main character is a girl with an arm cannon where the upgrades are cool as hell! you guys who havent played it go and get prime one and two for gc as they were my favs...

I just hope that the new metroid games remain on the Nintendo systems. I'm not buying a PS3 or Xbox 360 just to play another Metroid game. :/

lol i can understand y, wii isnt exactly up to date with much as goes 3rd gen systems, so now metroid graphics and gameplay will go from good to amazing, oh well looks like nintendo sees how they messed up...again

Wow! It would seem that some of you didn't even attempt to read this article before posting. First and foremost, Retro studios is not dead. Three of its employees just created a new third party company. Second, Metriod is not a third party IP. I honestly don't know where you guys came up with some of these responses.

Well I do enjoy Metroid games, but not that much. To date, Metroid Prime 3 is the worst game I have for the wii. But its good to know that they are creating their own group. A fresh start all over again.
