It's fair to say that one of the highlights of E3 2008 was Animal Crossing: City Folk for Nintendo. The new perihperal known as '
Wii Speak' excited fans of the Mario factory and made them question the possibilities that could come from it in other games, as seen with the
DS' microphone.
Earlier this month, the North American release date was given for Animal Crossing on the
Wii, however, Europeans were worried that a repeat of past events (eg. Super Smash Bros Brawl) may lead to the game being postponed until after Christmas. Despite this, Nintendo of Europe recently released their Autumn/Winter release schedule, which showed Animal Crossing to have a December 2008 release date.
The game has been renamed for the region as 'Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City,' and it has been made apparent that the
Wii Speak peripheral will come packaged with the game. This is great news for anybody hoping to have this game over the holiday season as a Christmas present.
