Castlevania 64, the first ever 3D castlevania game (to my knowledge). Now before you ask, I am not getting the one on PS3, cause it is not that good and also because of this game.
This game has a guest apperance from the Necronomicon, despite it having nothing to do with dracula or transilvania for that matter. I also doubt you fight Cthulhu or Mi-Go, but I am not that far and I doubt I will ever get that far, I will get to that in a minute.
There are two characters, Reinhardt and a girl, I also choose the guy, because he has the whip and a kickin' sword. The girl has magic bullets.
The maddening part, well at the point I am at, it is the jumping. The jumping mechanics are actually pretty solid, the only problem with that is, the grabbing of ledges mechanic sucks balls. I am actually unaware of how to grab a ledge, because the game didn't think it was important to go over anything you are able to do in the game. I mean you grab a lot in this game. After about 23 tries, I have figured out holding A was how you hold on, getting up though is frustrating, cause UP is subjective to the camera.
Now though I have seen a few playthroughs and there is a certain part of the game that seems to prevent you from ever continuing. It involves explosives and it is pretty hard to do and that has nothing to do with actually using them. Not very many people know how to use the explosives. At that point, you can either blow yourself up (by walking to fast with either item) or give up hope.
I could probably place more merit when I get farther, but really though the game is a lot harder than it needs to be on the first level. Also, the first level is long as hell.
Also, giant Caveman-Gorilla-Skeleton has Skeleton's on bikes as minions.
