My first shiny!(not a black eye)

I have good news and bad news,the good news that is that i caught my first shiny!it was a GOLD golbat,i evolved it into a crobat alrady(it turned pink)and i had been trying to catch a claydol in sky tower,when the first pokemon i ran in to was the golbat,it took me 4 months and a pokemon emerald.THE VERY BAAD NEWS.when i saw it i paniked and i umm,used my master ball.tell your first shiny and the game u found it in first.o ya when you trade a shiny pokemon in D/P does it stay shiny?

I dont know much about shinys other then that the only time I ever caught one was in pokemon crystal and it was a butteree.that gave me to bcause of the red garados you get.

What's the point of shiny Pokemon?

Sure, it's like; ''Got me a shiny BWAHAHAHAHA''

But other than showing off, they don't aid you anymore than a normal pokemon, am I right?

They look pretty cool, especially if you've seen a lot of the normal kind. But yeah, they don't give you any stats bonuses or anything. They just show that you're very, very lucky. I have a shiny Ekans on Firered, and I know a guy who has two shiny Golbats on Sapphire. (both female, unfortunately; we would have tried breeding them othewise)

Well, anyway, having a shiney of any kind is lucky, I don't even have a single one. :/

Anywhoo, yeah, I think in future games, shiny Pokemon should have some status perks as well as looks perks.

Although, the show off factor will be much higher in D/P because of online features.
