Aaaawww... Good memories!
Do you remember your first Pokémon Game? Great Times... After inserting those colorful cartridges into the huge slot of the Gameboy/Gameboy Color we were ready for hours and hours of fun with our beloved Pokémon.
After the release of the Pokemon 3rd Generation games: Ruby and Sapphire, for the next generation handheld system:The Gameboy Advanced, many fans felt disappointed. All the effort stored in those old GB cartridges just flushed down the toilet because the player couldn't transfer their Pokémon from Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal to Ruby and Sapphire. All the work was lost. So Nintendo came up with two versions: FireRed (Charizard) and LeafGreen (Venusaur) which are a remake of Red and Blue. Now the fans can live the amazing quest in the Kanto region once again.
Storyline
Basically, It's the same storyline as Red and Blue: You start in Pallet Town where you get a rival and Professor Oak explains you everything to be able to prevail in the world of Pokémon and where you're able to choose one of three starters: Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.
The only major changes were: The opportunity to be a female trainer and the Sevii Islands.
About the Sevii Islands
The Sevii Islands were a great addition to the game. After defeating the Elite 4, the player is able to explore seven islands full of Johto Pokémon. One of the Islands also features a DayCare center where the player is able to breed Pokémon. After doing some tasks at the Sevii Island the trading with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Colosseum and XD is enabled. Also, the Mystic Ticket and the Aurora Ticket (Obtained in a Nintendo Event) allows the player to visit Island 8 and 9 where three Legendary Pokémon roam.
Graphics
Both versions have pretty nice high quality 2D graphics with a bright colored scenario that gives the player a nice feel, just like in Ruby and Sapphire. Buildings and houses were totally redesigned but they remain in the same place as in Red and Blue
Sound
Our favorite tunes from Red and Blue stayed the same on these two remakes. The music fits nicely for each situation as it did on the very first pokemon games. The Sevii Islands have cool tunes from Gold and Silver that will bring back some good memories.
Differences between FireRed and LeafGreen
The main difference between FireRed and LeafGreen is that certain pokémon can be caught in the wild in one of the two games.

About the Nintendo Wireless Adapter
These games allow you to battle and trade with your friends using the
GBA Wireless adapter wich gives you acces to the famous Mystery Gift and allows you to play cool minigames at Island 2.
Replay Value
Pokémon games have a good replay value because after restarting the game the player has the opportunity to choose a different starter wich gives the second quest a different flavor. The only problem is that having the same battles twice can get annoying.
At the End...
At the end, Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen are both great options if you've beated all your
DS games and want to remember your old Pokémon games or you just want to have a great time and expand your Pokémon Diamond and Pearl collection.
