"All the Yoshis of the Rainbow" or "Where is the Darn Purple One?"

I have read from many sources that in Yoshi's Story for Nintendo 64 there is a purple yoshi you can get by doing all these things with coins and such.

I figure it's a lie made by bloggers who have nothing better to do with their lives. Has anyone seen the Yoshi or got him before?

You actually got a purple yoshi...not the black or white one?

I think you must be thinking of Super Mario World 3 where the purple Yoshi was in the special stages and it gave you temporary wings with anything you ate. That's the only purple yoshi I recall in any mario or yoshi game.

The black and white yoshi were pretty cool though. They were super powerful when they had all their health! And even more powerful when you got that thing that made em really happy. I can't remember what it was but maybe you know.
