PunchOut!! (NES) - 03-09-08

So, the other day I took the dust of my NES and played one of the favourite games, PunchOut!! It's a boxing game with a bit of humour. One of the greatest games ever made IMO. Mario as the referee, you as Little Mac (extremely little compared to your opponents) and Mr. Dream o.O (I don't have the Mike Tyson version.)

I dunno, whenever I play that game, I'm in synch, dodging, punching blocking as though I'm there. This game shows how great games can be with gameplay alone. No need for graphics, sound (even though the music while you fight is great xD), etc.

It also reminded me of the good ol' days like all the other games in my NES/SNES collection <3

Anyone else played it? What do you think of it? It's awesome, right?

Playing it on the VC and playing it on the NES with the original controller, inserting that cartridge, hearing that *click*, pressing that power button, realising it's dusty after years of not playing it, blowing on the contacts, reinserting it, that *click* again, power button, still too dusty, cotton bud with a bit of Mr Sheen, wiping it, inserting it hoping it will finally work, that *click* yet again, power button and then the bell rings and the music plays!

It's a whole different experience.

Oohh, I remember this game as one of the greatest!
And also one of the hardest.. Infact, I really never completed this game as a kid..! Hmm, think I might blow some dust from my old Nes as well.. Heheh..

I seem to remember there was a SNES version too.. And the graphics there was five times as smooth..! Although I havent played it on console yet...

Blast from the past!!
(you get karma for this)
EDIT: (got to spread some around first!)

That was Super PunchOut!! But I don't think it was as great as the original SNES version. I got it off the market for a quid (£1) hoping it would be better =[

I luv dis game.
I can remember beating down King Hippo, Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, DANG I love the classics. I have this on NES and VC, and I must say playing it on the old NES is loads better than on the Wii.

Punch Out is the best game ever. I still play it. Fight Night Round 3 is the only boxing game better than this.

Lol.. You also named him Little Cat..?
He already had that name before you gave it to him..! It was his name in the original Nintendo cartoon series of the game, and in the games as well..
