How do you choose your Pokemon games?

I used to buy both sets of games and make a "family" out of the characters I make. The red ones would be boys, and the blue ones would be girls.

Of course, I soon read in the Bible that it was a sin to dress up as a girl, so I thought it'd be smarter to just get the red one (Pearl) for this gen.
