If you did update and you are a fan of Wii homebrew TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET. Now since there is already a fix try googling it. Make sure your wii internet is off.

Where is your source for this spying crap? I read before I updated and saw that it could potentially be harmfull to homebrew fans. I updated anyway cause I dont use it.

No big deal, if Nintendo wants to play people to watch us sit around and play Zelda, good for 'em. I'm sure when they start seeing a financial loss due to the in the "We spy on minors" department they will give up. I mean srsly...doesn't that count as an invasion of privacy?

Re: Wii Update 3.4 Kills Homebrew... Again... - 11-19-08

lol I can't believe you people actually belive that Nintendo has the capabilty to monitor the millions upon millions of Wiis they've sold. It just isn't possible. Hell even our own government could'nt do that. They said there were weapons os mass destrcution in Iraq. See how wrong they were? Anyway back on subject: People need to stop believing some 5 year old on a news site that says that some one can see what your doing on the internet by updating your gaming systems console firmware. That really is a stupid thing to say.

P.S if that 5 year old thing was aimed at me... I am 12 not 5...
Don't get mad Elle. *check user cp* I'm just saying there is no way Nintendo or fo rthat matter any living entity can monitor billions of computers at once. Hundreds yes but billions iis impossible with todays technology. As for the Homebrew Channel it is considered hacking the firmware of the Wii to allow something custom to go on it. Therefore from a certain point of view it is very much illegal. Why do you think the makers of the Homebrew Channel suggest that you remove it if you want to send your Wii in for repair?

It doesnt modify firmware. It modifies a game save. And they say remove it because it voids the Warrenty.

But like I said, I never said they monitor All of them.

Stealth, google then, and learn to use it. You fail to understand what homebrew is and what 'freeware' stands for.

Varying on how you use 'homebrew' is up to the person using it. Just like someone has said in here, for you acting as if you know 'everything' you sure seem to make yourself...nevermind, all I see is that this thread is going to become one big flame thread.

The bottom line it's Nintendo hardware, they can choose what they want to do with it. For people using it for homebrew, that's fine most of the time people make there OWN game(s) on it. I also understand wiki can be false but it sure has the information you claim is false which really most of it is true. Overall, I honestly don't care but I hate it how much a person can be in denial, I hate these sad 'debates' about some 'rumor' or 'gossip'.

So, overall, enlighten me what homebrew is for anything then?

Have a nice day.
