Let's take the PSP for example.
Now any homebrew which is coded for and compiled by the PS2Dev.org SDK which was developed under legal methods IS legal, no if's or but's.
if the code was compiled by the
official SDK and release as unsigned free homebrew (whether the SDK is Legitimate or Stolen) then and ONLY then is that specific homebrew application Illegal. and why? because the Sony SDK is licensed under a closed license agreement to which only official developers know what it says. and well there is the issue of the leaked version, which was not legaly distributed.
Now for your 'backing-up games'.
The the US (United States)
do not allow you to keep back-ups of any certain game according to US law.
So, again, enlighten me what and how homebrew works for
anything? From the looks of things no buddy understands a thing. This thread is full of denial and rumors.
