I was reading my weekly email I get from GAME when something at the bottom caught my eye. It said 'Microsoft praise Nintendo for 'Broadening market'' I clicked it and thought I should share it with you:
A bit of Christmas spirit has been shown by Microsoft's Shane Kim as he praised the work of rival company Nintendo.
The corporate vice-president of Microsoft Games Studios believes that Nintendo has done a good job in broadening the market and his company has to work harder on appealing to a wider range of audience.
He told Venturebeat: "I can tell you how that conversation goes at Microsoft. They say, 'I don't think that's a game' but the guy at Nintendo says 'I don't care, I'm selling a whole bunch of that stuff.
"I believe to be the leader in interactive entertainment, we have to expand well beyond gaming."
Microsoft has done a decent job at appealing to hardcore gamers through titles on its Xbox 360, but will need to look towards developing titles like
Wii Fit or Guitar Hero to branch out into appealing to the new breed of gamer.
It was recently stated that the sales figures of the Xbox 360 could surpass 25 million by the end of November.

Reading that, I think xbox owners like myself should take a step back and wonder why we just got an avatar update with Microsoft talking about making Wiifit like games...
