If its based on what platform it was first on, then he would belong to Sony/Microsoft.

Sony and Microsoft didn't even have consoles in 1987! Metal Gear was first released on the NES. However, that doesn't make it property of Nintendo, it is owned by Konami, end of story.

He's neither. Snake's created by a 3rd party to Nintendo and Sony, namely Konami.

Actually, I was right, Microsoft and Sony didn't have consoles out in the 80's. MSX was a Computer, not a console.

Well yeah, it was a home computer just like the Commodore and ColecoVision. Doesn't mean it wasn't used as a gaming system.

Also I have a question. Is the Atari Video Computer System a console?

Metal Gear Solid Started off on Nintendo. But then I guess they went to the Playstation afterward.

Since the playstation was "New" back then.
