Zelda Stuff You Probably Didn't Know -
10-10-09

Remember this kid, in Kariko Village, in Ocarina of Time? He always played in the graveyard, and said he'd grow up to be just like Dampe.
In the future of OoT, he grows up to be the Poe monger. They both share their walking sticks in the same fashion, and both have an obsession with ghosts and death.

-------
When you go to Kakari Village in OoT, in the future, the Old man in blue will tell you that there used to be a famous thief in town who used a tool to see "the truth". This was obviously the Eye of Truth. However, he was caught and his house was demolished. His house was where the well is now placed.
During medieval ages, it was common to punish thievery by cutting off people's hands.
Bongo Bongo came from the well.
His hands were chopped off, too.
-------
Having established that, Bongo was a famous thief. Gerudo Valley was the Valley of Theives.
In the Gerudo matriarchy, a male is somehow born in a society of lesbians every 100 years. That man becomes the Gerudo King of Theives.
The eye of truth is used extensively in the spirit temple as well as the shadow temple, and was found in the well, where Bongo was sealed.
The previous Gerudo heir was Bongo Bongo.
-------
In OoT, after receiving the Ocarina of Time, but before going to the Temple of Time, if you go into the Back Alley of Castle Town, you'll witness a guard dying and giving his last words about how he tried to find you when Ganon attacked.

-------
At the start of Majora's Mask you see the frozen dead deku underneath the clock tower. It was the Deku Butlers son. He says that his son is missing.
Skull Kid stole his soul to turn you into a deku.
-------
When a Kokiri leaves the forest, they don't die immediately (This is shown at the end of Ocarina of Time as there are Kokiri at Lon Lon Ranch. I believe by Kokiri dying it means that they begin to age.
Wind Waker's Link is the descendant of Mido, who, after the Death of the Deku Tree and disappearance of Saria, left the forest in search of Link and Saria a. As this is the Adult Timeline, which OOT's Link is no longer a part of, and now Saria is permanently in the Sacred Realm, he never finds them, and decides to give up and settle down.
The faint Kokiri blood is the reason why Outset Island, an isolated island in WW, practices the traditions of clothing boys in green Kokiri tunics. Mido settled there, long ago, and his descendants estsblished the culture.
-------
You never returned the Kokiri Sword. You said you were just going to borrow it, but you never gave it back.
-------
The Hero's Shade in TP carries the sword and shield that Link had at the end of Majora's Mask. After OoT, Link returned the Master Sword and relinquished his piece of the Triforce. After Majora's Mask, Link grew up, and after returning to Termina, he once again searched for Navi in the forest. Without the aid of the Triforce, he was just a vulnerable Hylian, and as the Kokiri say, every non-Kokiri who gets lost in the forest becomes a Stalfos. OoT Link became a Stalfos, which is why he appears, 100 years later, as the Hero's Shade in Twilight Princess.

I knew pretty much all of that.
The Mido being WW Link's ancestor and OoT Link becoming a Stalfos part are a bit too far though.

It is implied that all of the sages "die" when they become sages in OoT, and are permanently sent to the Sacred Realm. Mido looks very sad at the end of OoT, because both Saria and Link are then gone. Beyond that it's speculation, but it would explain why on a certain isolated island it has become customary to garb boys in green when they come of age. How else do you explain Kokiri culture outside of the Kokiri forest?
Explain Hero's Shade, then?
I guess he was just some random hero wielding MM Link's equipment who was also a Stalfos?
I'm fairly certain of that theory.

And I think your speculation is a bit on the wild side there.
I think I got confused...when you said OoT Link you meant the older one right? Because the timeline between Young Link and Old Link are split (though you probably already know that).

I actually edited my post with some more info, but I'll restate it.
It is implied that all of the sages "die" when they become sages in OoT, and are permanently sent to the Sacred Realm. Mido looks very sad and appears to be in deep thought at the end of OoT, because both Saria and Link are then gone. Earlier in the game, Mido sees Link again, as an adult, and he is very confused, but he says that Link was his best friend, and he implies that he wants to find/contact Link. Beyond that it's speculation, but it would explain why on a certain isolated island it has become customary to garb boys in green when they come of age. How else do you explain Kokiri culture outside of the Kokiri forest?
Oh, and to elaborate on the Links, Mido briefly met Adult Link, in the Adult Timeline, realized that was who he was, and leaves the forest to search for him. Seeing as he saw that Link had left, then come back matured, it easily follows that Mido would have a reason to beleive he could leave the forest too. Being the only Kokiri who recognized Adult Link, he is the only person who could have possibly brought Kokiri culture outside of the forest, as everyone else would have been too scared to leave.

wow, that's some deep thinking. Never thought that far into it.
That's part is kinda sad and creepy about Skull Kid taking the Deku kid's soul to turn you into a Deku.

I'm pretty much knew that, but I always thought that the OOT Link became a knight and got stabbed in the eye by an enemy, because in Twilight Princess, he only had 1 red eye.

I actually never noticed that property of his eyes. I don't have an explanation for that.
I like the Stalfos theory, though.

Ok, if he was turned into a Stalfos, then how was he able to turn into a golden wolf or is that just his spirit?
