since the dawn of time (around 1984) Mario has been the all time best game. But recently Sonic has come out with more good games and Mario hasnt. So the question is which game saga has better games and will be around longer

Actually, just the opposite has happened. Even though Mario is starting to go downhill too I guess. I'll go with Mario.

Mario will go farther. Sonic games now a days arent really that good. But i think one day there will be a new spotlight on some other game.
