    Mario over the years

I bet that every member of Friendcodes has either played or heard of Mario, well it has come to my attention that Super Mario, may be loosing his "superness". His first game changed the way people viewed video games, that and it's two sequels started a golden age. Super Mario World reinvented the mario formula, Mario kart started a spin-off series like no other. Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine gave players access to a whole new way of gameplay for fans and got them deeper into mario's world in a new perspective.

More into the future Nintendo brought back the franchise to it's roots in the two critically acclaimed New Super Mario Bros. Ds and Wii, and they went creative with Super Mario Galaxy back in 2007/8. But in the past two years no big things have happened to the franchise, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was good, but just continued where the prequeal left off and Super Mario 3D land just brought it deeper into 3D and nothing much. Then the franchise started bringing out/going to spin-offs like Mariokart 7, Mario party 9, Fortunate street, and Mario Sports mix, most didn't bring anything new. I'm not saying that Nintendo has run out of ideas, but what do you think could be done to innovate Mario once again?

Well I still think mario can stretch its roots much more but if your looking for innovation...Remember Mini Mario? or Marios Kids? (same goes for luigi) They should intergrate those characters but in the generation of graphics today. We always see Mini Mario or Marios Son as a 2D character. Well how about we get them into the 3D HD World :)

An remember PAPER MARIO 3DS, Im sure thats going to be a fun one to play :)

How about they bring back Mario RPG but for the 3DS, im down for even a full remake for the 3DS

So Mario still can change the way gaming rolls today as long as it keeps it roots.

I always thought of a Nintendo Kingdom Hearts type game, well remember King Mickey in Kingdom Hearts? Well imagine King Mario in a Kingdom Hearts type game. Im sure they have enough characters to do that type of game-play and story :)

Another idea is New New Super Mario Bros but with the Intergration of Mini Mario and Luigi , with new powers :)

There's still many ideas for mario. The Mario World is huge and it just keeps growing bigger and bigger until it explodes XD

Mario doesn't need sequels or ports, what it needs is to bring out a whole new game, I want Nintendo to make a game that goes in deep into Mario's story. I agree that HD would be a great step for Nintendo, and I think an RPG for Wii or WiiU will be epic and never seen before on a home console, that builds on the SNES original.

I disagree with this part, are you saying there should be no more Mario Kart or Mario Bros. sequels? Those are some of the best games and it would be beyond illogical to stop publishing those games.

I do believe that they need some new ideas ,but they can't just stop making popular, good-selling games.

Yes, but those two are in a true need of new content, can't just keep publishing the same thing over and over again, popularity would decline.

I see what you mean, your looking for Mario Chronicles? Where did Mario come from? Is mario really Luigis Brother? It seems your looking for a deeper Mario experience.
I believe they can do it but Nintendo would have to keep Marios Secrets stretched for Mario to last. It wouldnt last long if they poured out Marios every secret of his life into one game.

Mario really is a simple story so its not as serious as Zelda or Metroid also.

Plus Mario spin-off games are fun and mostly just for the $$$, usually the spinoffs have nothing to do with Mario World type games.

I'm really surprised Nintendo have managed to innovate with Mario as much as they have; 2D side scrolling, 3D platforming, gravity phyhsics based platforming. That's actually quite a lot of innovation.
If anything, Mario needs to be in another Mario 64 type game, I know they released a fan version, but we need a super mario 64-2 (Final Fantasy do it). I really liked SM3Dland and although it was basically the same thing, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was just as good as the first.
All I need is some objects to jump on and a podgy italian plumber and I'm set for life.

They have made progress for Mario Kart, just look how far it came from Mario Kart Wii. So they didn't publish the same thing, simple logic.

Mariokart 7 isn't exactly a big jump in the Mariokart series, gliders and a few new power ups isn't whats Mariokart great. The tracks are new but the same design. There is very little we haven't seen before in the game, of course the online got better in balance, but it is a bit weaker than the wii in connection strength, which should be better. The kart customization is the only truly great tweak I have seen, can be used for future games. It hasn't gotten that far, even with these extra items and coins., it's more like a handheld MKW.

Mario never had a deep story just princess is kidnapped and you have to save her, it was simple and that is what made the game great. Mario games are suppose to be a simplistic platforming game great for all ages if they are going to be change mario, make a change the main villian
