Why Halo DS is NOT modded version of 007 game

Look, I know this is old, but I thought of something why this game can't be just some guy modding the game with an AR or whatever.


A modding tool like an Action Replay is not a very advanced tool. It can only edit the source code for games, it can't edit actual files in the game. For instance, in Metroid PH you can mod stuff like health and gavity and ammo becasue that is all numbers and program language modding, it's not actually changing the game. It's just changing the entities of those values(ammo, health, etc.) With an Action Replay/Gameshark/hacker tool, you can't edit map files to make the Zanzibar shown in the game. You also can't mod stuff like the weapon models, unless you literally hacked the game's infrastructure and took out the .nds files.

You haven't read all the news on Halo DS :\

it was created, back in January aparently, but it was cancelled, and recently at the beginging of the month, one of the producers made a video of him playing a Halo DS version of Zanzibar.

The only reason 007 was brought up was because the bottem screen display looked much like the one shown in the Halo DS video.

Except it's possible to take the game cartridge, find a cartridge reader online, rip the files off of it, and edit the files directly via computer. It's how they make ROMs and homebrew ROMs.

The Action Replay is a cheating device, no more, no less. It can barely edit files to begin with.

Regarding the above post, it's not just the bottom LCD screen.

It's the sounds of when you hit someone with a bullet (The gay "OW" sound), the crosshairs, the pain circle (Shows where you got shot) and the score/timer in the upper right hand corner of the top LCD screen. It's exactly the same.

Not saying it was a fake. I'm saying it's using the same engine as 007. So yes, essentially, it is 007.

Who said they use a cheating system to HACK a game? lol You can't edit the GFX of a game using AR/GS or ANY cheating system.

They obviously used a high end hacking program. I don't really care about if it's a modded 007, I'm just getting the facts right =P

Exactly. Except my opinion is more for modding the game with a computer than using a "hacking" program/device.

exactly, they did not use an AR to change the programming of it. to be honest, the program they used to mod the game may be illegal...

and recordingthem playing them and saying its Halo DS.

The company that was originally going to make Halo DS, created a small demo. However, they did this before going to Microsoft, and Bungie for the liscence to the franchise, and basically ,they were turned down...
