Nintendo teaming up with Future US, Inc. for Nintendo Power -
10-12-07
Just got an e-mail saying that Nintendo has partnered with Future US, Inc to bring us Nintendo Power beginning with the December Issue - Vol 222. For those of you who are already subscribed, you won't be missing out at all and your issues will simply carry over.
In the e-mail, they say: "And what about the magazine’s content? The editorial team at Future US will continue to work very closely with Nintendo to provide the same high-quality magazine that readers love. In addition, Future US plans for a bigger and better nintendopower.com. Over time, the Nintendo Power staff will look for ways to evolve and improve every aspect of the magazine."
What are your thoughts on this?
Personally, I'm excited to see a new look to Nintendo Power. The magazine wasn't quite providing me with anything exclusive. Anything I found in the magazine, I would be able to find online, and weeks earlier as well. Hopefully teaming up with Future US will prove to be a good move.

Yeah, same here. Nintendo Power was almost an overview of that past month's news, as I had already known about all the new Nintendo information before the magazine was released for that month. They need information for the future. Something new. Something that we haven't heard yet.

Yup, I also heard rumours of this happening a long ways back too. Nintendo sent me that e-mail today and included more information on their plans with Future US.
Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on what they plan to expect and what they want Nintendo and Future US to bring to their customers.

Ahh, well personally I hope they still stick to the original design they had going, maybe make improvements. And if they had to, add more. Just not take anything away.

i am excited and... well kinda bummed out
i am excited because the official xbox magazine comes with demo discs... which is a sign that the new nintendo power may get demo discs!
but i am kinda bummed because they might change the feel of the magazine... because all of the old writers will now be gone... but w/e demo discs are wayy better than magazine content

Yeah, I see your point. I loved the older writers...But Nintendo assured us the magazine would be improved from the last issue, Volume 221.
I never actually thought of the Demo Disk idea. But they could only have it for the Wii, excluding the DS.

Bump. I just got a new email from Nintendo. Here it is:
Dear Nintendo Power subscriber,
We’re excited to inform you that Nintendo has partnered with
Future US, Inc. to publish Nintendo Power starting with the December
issue, Vol. 222! If you don’t know Future US by name, then you may be
familiar with some of its other industry-leading magazines, which
include PC Gamer, Official Xbox Magazine, and Playstation: The Official
Magazine.
What does this partnership mean to you? Not much, really. Most
importantly Canadian and U.S. subscribers will continue to receive
Nintendo Power with no gaps in your subscription.
You will receive issues each month until your current 12 issue subscription
is fulfilled. Subscription renewals (and new subscriptions) will be
offered for $19.95 in the US and $27.95 in Canada (payable in US Funds)
for 12 issues, and Future US will be sure to let you know in advance when
it’s time to renew so you won’t miss a single issue.
And what about the magazine’s content? The editorial team at Future US
will continue to work very closely with Nintendo to provide the same
high-quality magazine that readers love. In addition, Future US plans
for a bigger and better nintendopower.com. Over time, the Nintendo Power
staff will look for ways to evolve and improve every aspect of the
magazine.
We would also like to reassure you that Nintendo will continue to protect
your personal information in the manner we always have. Future US will
utilize subscriber information only for the servicing of Nintendo Power
subscriptions and is committed to following Nintendo’s high standards in
regard to privacy when handling your personal information.
After October 15, 2007, if you have a question relating to your
subscription, please contact Future US at:
Nintendo Power
Customer Care
PO Box 5770,
Harlan, IA 51593
or send an email to Nintendocustserv@cdsfulfillment.com, or call
1-866-941-8368.
You can also send letters, art, and photos to nintendopower@futureus.com.
Thank you and we hope you continue to enjoy Nintendo Power for many
more years.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.

Re: Nintendo teaming up with Future US, Inc. for Nintendo Power -

I actually learned this a while ago, and I must say, I am pretty disapointed. I grew to love the nintendo power staffs jokes and cool features from the magazines. I honestly never even liked the magazines tha future did, those being the playstation magazine and the x-box one. They just werent my style. But anyway, no judgements can be made sense, as far as I know, there has been no release of anything related to the new nintendo power, other then the fact that future will be doing it.

So is that why NintendoPower hasn't come out lately?
