They are all the same thing with a new item, new gun, new level, new character or new technique. The gaming industry is a giant recycling plant, we use the same thing over and over, and make it better by giving more and making it look pretty. If you want something new don't buy games till the Wii Motion Plus, Wii balance board and Wii graphics are utilized to the extreme and the gaming industry is revolutionized.

At least with those other games the story changes, and there is something really new.
Zelda = A kid in a green suit who rescues a princess. Brilliant storyline. Very unique.

Pokemon D/P was the first Pokemon game I have ever played.

Then why should nintendo worry about changing the Zelda formula.
New people to the series won't even know or care till later on, I've enjoyed
each Zelda I've played and in each one there is always something new to
enjoy.
The only thing that doesn't change is "Save princess and kingdom from evil guy"
and it's the same as Mario, your just in a different art style and persona...
Oh, and by the way the pokemon story never changes. "Become pokemon master and collect pokemon, the end"

I'm aware of this.
Pokemon: The same game all the time.
Mario: The same game all the time.
Zelda: The same game all the time.
Star Fox: The same game all the time.
See a pattern here? I guess when it boils down to it, my point is this: Why doesn't Nintendo make a new franchise/game every once in a while, instead of remaking the same stuff? I don't doubt they're capable of it, but eventually you'll get tired of saving the same damn princess while wearing the same damn green suit, and I'll get tired of training/catching/breeding the same damn Pokemon over and over again.
I am coming,
and if I come,
then pain is coming with me.

Well if your point was "Nintendo, stop being gay and make a new IP"
then you shoulda said so instead of bashing a game.
I totally agree though, it's time for something new and not just casual new, something for the hardcore fans.
I believe Disaster was being made by Nintendo and Monolith?
I'm thinking it's dead though, maybe we'll see something by the end of the week.
But I wanna keep my classics along with the new IP's.

I was bashing Nintendo, not the game itself. I even said Zelda is a good game. It's not Zelda's fault it keeps getting remade.

haha, I've been thinking about this for awhile now. I love Nintendo and everything. Games are remade, added with a buch of new stuff. an I love it! I honestly never get tired of playing the same stuff over and over. I've been doing it for years!! every since I was a little kid. But it is true, I've been wondering how long they can just keep remaking the basic same principles in all these games? It would be cool to take some games and have them grow into bigger things you know. More complex, yet sticking to the roots of the game. I don't know if Nintendo can though.
I still say every new game generation impresses me every time. But Nintendo does need to come out with something new, and big. and awesome!
Anywho. I love Zelda! yay I'm excited for this new one! haha! :D

Re: New Zelda game Confirmed! -

First off i will state i love the zelda series.
I guess like chaos said, its one big recycling industry. Its the same with anything, look at books. Tolkien defined the fantasy genre with Lord of the rings and most fantasy books are defined by what he wrote, (Elves, dwarfs and the like)
Miyamoto defined the gaming industry with ocarina of time, hence most zelda games have the same plot because it works.
I mean, i wouldnt give up the man in green for any other game. And while the main save the princess does stay the same. The way it is approached each time is different.
There are different characters, different setting, different worlds (I mean art styles, not hyrule). If you look at it, only two things dont change are the the main characters and saving hyrule/zelda.
Anyway, i remeber nintendo saying that twilight princess would be the last zelda as we know it, so who knows? Maybe they are taking it in this new direction. This could be a slightly altered plot.
I read at IGN about a possible first person view, combining that with the new wii motion sensor, we could have realistic sword fighting at last!

That's exactly what I'm hoping: the 1:1 motion control means no more, "A" to horizontal "Target lock and A to vertical" it means swing at 47 degrees to swing at 47 degrees.

A lot of games are being remade by nintendo. Sorry to state that AGAIN since everyone is on track with that subject. The games are great though I mean Nintendo is one of those companies that can actually make a decent sequel if not a greatly better one I.E. SSBB. Some dont shine but not all can be gold. Zelda, Mario, etc have been played the same way for years and as much as we keep saying nothing has changed, we still play the games. The games are drugs and nintendo is the drug dealer.

Let's move this conversation away from that whole topic...back to this new Zelda. Coolza also posted this . What are everyone's hopes and expectations? Personally I hope that this game will be 100 hours plus. And have some VERY HARD difficulty. Twilight Princess was the easiest Zelda game to date, I was sevrely disappointed with the lack of challenge.
