Tool Assisted Speedruns! Is it cheating?

I recently made a TAS video of Mario World and showed it to my friend! Once we watched my Speedrun he noticed how I "perfected" every move and he kept complaing how I was cheating by using Tools to assist me with my speedrun! But in reality you just using slowdown so you can make a last minute move perfectively, by skipping frame by frame! But he still thinks I used cheats and he think TAS is cheating! Can anyone post and explain that TAS is not cheating!

No it isn't! It's just slowing down the game to play perfectly and replaying it in normal playback speed! That's all!

Well I'd consider it cheating, as a true player would master all the ins and outs of his game for a speedrun, of course it would be slower but it would be a true speedrun. I wouldn't have the patience to keep rewinding each frame to perfection >.>

Agreed.

Tool Assisted Speedruns are nothing.

A normal speed run is defenantly way more challenging to make. TAS could be used as a demonstration, or to help practice, but I don't like to think of them as real speed runs.

Why the heck would you make on of your own..?
It ruins the game completely for yourself and anyone who is watching the video!
