Welcome to the third user review! This review was written by Superperfex, one of our outstanding members at Friendcodes. You will find in this review that he and Gilger agree about Guitar Hero III... maybe they are as good as each other? Read on for Guitar Hero III goodness!
Do you feel like you are misguided and shallow? Do you want to head bang until your head rolls off your shoulders? Well, it's time you started your training towards being a Guitar Hero.
The soundtrack is simply amazing with various artists such as Foghat, Mountain, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, and Guns N’ Roses. There are many more bands and up to 70 songs to play. You can get more if you own a X-box 360 or Playstation 3.
It definitely looks a lot better and cleaner since Guitar Hero 2. There are still some minor problems. The characters look a lot more realistic, but the lead singer is a freak of nature. Along with that, the characters’ fingers don’t match up with the songs too well. It would be great for the designers to calibrate the positions on the guitar for each song. Maybe even show some whammy bars and stage dives during the show.

Story Mode - A small step towards improvement has been made to story mode. With cut-scenes and the ability to rock out with a partner, the career mode is where you will spend most of your time trying to improve your career score. You start out as a fresh face and make your way up to rock god status. Every move gets you closer to becoming a Guitar Hero. What you can also do is sign up on guitarhero.com. In the guitar hero community, you can join a tour group, get groupies, and meet new people to play against. By trying to get more and more groupies, you will want to keep playing until you reach the top of the leader boards.
Multi-player/Online - With an improved Face-off and Pro Face-off modes, the multi-player aspect of the game has improved. You can either verse your friend or go online and find a random match. The Battle mode will prove that getting notes isn’t all that is important. Because let’s face it- the crowd has no musical education, just awe them with the right moves at the right time. Battle mode includes broken string, double notes, broken whammy, and increased difficulty. This just goes to show you, the better you know the songs, the better you will do versing someone on Guitar Hero 3. Just be careful that you don’t trip.
Practice Mode - Same as the previous titles, but with one alteration. Now you can see your root score on a song. This meaning, what you would have gotten on the song, or section without any star power. A great way of being able to find out your cut-offs for those pesky 5-star ratings.
DLC- Downloadable content available only on 360 and PS3. Just keeps everything fresh and non repetitive.
Recap-
Sound- 10/10 You just have to love the tracks in this game. The songs are refreshing and in your face most of the time; just a bunch of songs that you can rock back and forth to.
Graphics- 8/10 Everything has taken a full step in terms of graphics. But the only problem is the scary singer. The frontman of the band shouldn’t be ugly, especially in this gorgeous-looking game. You practically would want to eat the notes as they some across the note board.
Replay Value- 10/10 These songs are just great and fun to listen to, with DLC for non-
Wii users, and online gameplay, you will most likely keep this game in your system for weeks to come.
Overall 9.3/10
Guitar Hero is easily the most innovative and fun guitar simulation out on the market to date.
