Conduit 2 online is region locked?!

It came to my attention earlier today that Conduit 2's online is region locked...hmmm...
I've been playing C2 for a while now and I've seen the same names of certain players on various occasions - which gives me the impression that C2's online population is rather small - but if then C2 online is indeed region locked, then I think thats pretty disappointing. So I can only play ppl in the EU and not NA? When considering the possibility that the NA C2 online population is probably quite bigger than EU, this seems quite a shame really... C1 online had regional and worldwide options, so I'm curious why C2 online is region locked.... I remember trying to add FC from some1 on Youtube and the game told me the FC is invalid. I'm sure I wrote it in right so maybe the region lock constricts FCs as well as public matches.

Ive read some people saying on the web that fc's are but not the random matching. But I sure hope its not. I added my friend who lived in England, but he recently moved to Califonia, and im from NA, so I dont know if he added me before he moved or what.
