That is true. At least I hope they got rid of that engine where we have to control the way Sonic runs from a 3rd person view like in secret rings.

I want to free roam with the sword not run and go on a certain path with it.

That WOULD be fun.
But then the areas would have to be HUGE!
I mean it IS Sonic afterall.
Put him in a place like Hyrule field and he'll be able to run from Kokiri Forest to the Hyrule castle in under 30 secs.

but seriously though the reason the game wasn't free roaming cuz they tried to make it more like the classic sonic games where you had pretty much go on a straight path, well technically you could go backwards but you know what I mean that it was all about zooming at supersonic speed to goal grabbing rings and all that! although sonic and the secret rings wasn't great it was pretty much cuz the controls but I know in sonic and the black knight you use the remote and nunchuck and use the analog to control sonic...thats already a big fix on the controls already, if its like sonic unleashed controls than its all good :D
