Question about IVs and Hidden Power

Ok, I've been trying to breed a shiny for a friend, but as I calculate the IVs, I've come to notice that they all have the same type of Hidden Power and power (Dragon, 69). The first two times, I said "wow, what a coincidence", but after the 8th egg, it can't be. Thus, I'm stuck wondering as to what to do about changing the hidden power type and strength (granted getting a particular HP in this case won't matter, I am breeding for one later). Does anyone have an "IV Guide for Dummies" to help me out?

That doesn't answer my question though. According to those guides, it seems as if every egg should be different. I've gotten 8 in a row that supposedly have the same type of Hidden Power and strength. If it should be random for every egg, then WHY am I getting the same type of HP and strength eight times in a row? Am I calculating too early or what?

either you are calculating to early and u need to test the hidden power instead or the parents have the exact same IVs

you need to take them into a lvl 100 battle with no EVs on them, and input their stats in the calculator that way.
doing it from lvl 1 won't tell you a damn thing.

well that does it but I checked hiddenpower at level 1 by batteling thats a better way to do it

That should help. The IV calcultor has like half the values red so I'll try that out.

that may give you hidden power type, but it doesn't allow you to determine it's strength.
beyond that,doing IV checks the way I mentioned also allows you to see if you want to use a different pokemon for the breeding.

Pretty much all starts are in the 5~15 range besides HP at level 1. Trying to calculate IV's without an Action Replay doesn't do you any good :/

Also, don't believe this guy. Even if the parents have the exact same IV's, the baby could only inherit one.
