Basically this thread is made to say
FC is grey on cheating.
"Cheating is strictly prohibited...eh wait, we kinda allow some of it"
Eggs - Different Pokemon compatibitlies yields different rates at which eggs will be generated.
i.e. Same species Pokemon with different IDs will produce egg 8 times faster than same ID, different species.
There is a reason for this to be in the game.
Different species egg hatch require different number of steps. There are abilities in game to reduce the steps required to hatch eggs.
By using cheats in breeding it clearly affects the game in more than one way.
*if really getting technical, using the mentioned cheats will let eggs be generated in frames of the RNG in which eggs wouldn't be produced normally*
Breeding shouldn't be about standing outside the daycare centre and toggling two cheats on and off. Honest people spend hours on bike to obtain/hatch eggs, and there is a road in game designed in every game since 2nd gen specifically for that purpose.
Of course, it's just easier to cheat.
Cloning -
when Pokemon and items are obtained, they are obtained once not an infinite number. Additional number require additional effort. There are reasons for these.
Life orb is obtained once in the playthrough, additional will require the player to start and finish the game again.
People spend days to months to breed and SR one optimal IV Pokemon, not getting inifinite number to spread to the entire forum. Honest players spend hours to earn BP to trade for a single exclusive TM.
Of course it's just easier to cheat.
"Banning cloning will destroy all competitive breeding/battling communities"
This isn't an arguement. It's a statement.
Basically it's synonymous to something like "I want to cheat because I can't play the game without it".
Keep in minds there are no extent to cheating. 'Saving time', 'does not alter', etc etc (basically what 'backed-up' the thread) can be use as arguements for cheating to any extent in the same way.
This is probably enough being said.
Only fair playing is fair playing. Everything else is cheating.
And enough of this '____ not affected by ____ cheating method'.
It's absolutely non-sense, and everyone knows it:
If in fact the cheat doesn't affect the game, then you wouldn't be doing it rather than playing normally like everyone else in the first place.
Heck if cheating is to be endorsed. At least be straight about it.
