Hidden power - 06-12-08

WELL... I was wondering if It is worth it to put hidden power on a sleeptalk uxie. After a long time thinking, I decided to go with this move set

Uxie@leftovers
rest
sleep talk
extrasensory
hidden power/ grassknot/yawn

if hidden power proves useless then ill use one of the others but... Is there a way to accurately tell the hidden power of a pokemon? I dont trust calcs much... If anything would be kind enough to battle my uxie with a kecleon ? Not sure if anyone trains them... my uxie is lvl 52, I have been ev training it...almost done lol so wat do you think? yay or nah to hidden power on uxie?

The only way to completely accurately tell the HP of a pokemon is to find out its exact IVs. This way, you can feed them into an IV calculator - it'll tell you the pokemon's HP type and strength.

In an in-game double battle via the VS Seeker, you could use Hidden Power on a Kecleon. It also helps give you an idea of which IV calculator tools to trust.

Re: Hidden power - 06-16-08

I read somewhere that hidden power is just going to take the type and power of another move, and that the move that it copies is based on the species. It went on to say, as an example, that if a Zapdos were to use Hidden Power, it would behave as a water type move with a base power of 120, in other words, the move Hydro Pump.

Of course, I read this a long time ago, I think during the time of the Sliver/Gold/Crystal versions, and I don't remember where I read it either. So it might have changed since then, or just been wrong. But whatever:)
