Smogon vs. serebii vs. marriland vs. friendcodes

All of you like to play pokemon and go onto these forums to chat with people about teams and request trades, but being a member on each of these forums I have noticed many differences between them all. Some of the most noticable differences are how friendly the people are and how easy/hard it is to trade with people. To be honest, when it comes to certain things some of these boards lack a whole lot. So here are the differences I've noticed between them all:

-Friendcodes: This was the first forum I came to and its where i got started with everything and it is an easy place for simple "trainers" to battle and trade with eachother. It used to be a whole lot more crowded than it is now but with the release of platinum I'm sure it will get busy again. Like I said before, if you want to battle someone here or get a trade for a certain pokemon it is very simple which is a good thing. However, it isn't a very good place for discussion such as "RMT's" as compared to some of these other places and people get all up in arms about really silly things. The crowd here consistes of more prepubescent people than any of the others but thats what makes this place good for people that take it easier than some other people do.

-Marriland: Home of the hotshot d-bag himself. This place is not that good. The battling is competitive and thats all this place is good for. It is hard to trade with people because threads get pushed down to where no one sees them too quickly. That is really all I can say about this place since I don't go to it often since I just don't like it.

-Serebii: This is probably the biggest spot, but it definitely isn't the best. The people here are elitist pricks that just make you want to slap them until they decided to get a life. This place is worse than Marriland is for trading too since they way their trade threads are set up makes people just ignore you constantly. This place is best for checking how good teams are. However, the elitists like to argue in the RMT threads a lot either with you or someone else so you might be digging through an argument just to find a decent and constructive reply.

-Smogon: I'm fairly new here but so far it is honestly great. The people are really helpful and the trades are the best out of anyone. When i first joined there i had someone give me 6 free pokemon just to get me started. Now I didn't need to get started at all...or so I thought. Turns out that no one cares about what you can breed for them or what legendaries you can trade here. They just care for the best of the best. Everything that people trade there is A+ stuff. They want everything that has the best IV's as possible and you can really get some good stuff there, but since it is all the best it isn't exactly the easiest place to trade. You too need some of the best in order to trade with others so when I was given those 6 pokemon to start out, it really helped a lot. Everything else here is top notch as well but trading is the main area where this place shines.

Overall: Out of all of these I'd say smogon is my favorite place to go and then friendcodes for more simpler things. Friendcodes is a great place to get started and Smogon is the place to go once you have already started walking and want to start running.

I agree with pretty much everything you have said, however with my experiences from Serebii I havn't met any people like that. I suppose that could be because when I do need to battle or chat I usually hang around the chat room. I think that should be noted, it's quite easy to get battles/trades there. I definately agree with Marriland, not much of a community, just a quick way to find a competitve battler. And yeah, friendcodes has a great community but it is overcrowded with novice battlers. As for Smogon I would agree 100% that it is the A+ stuff. It isn't the biggest site, but it's the most competitve.

Yeah, Smogon is great after you get a feel of the basic principles of competetive Pokemon.

Serebii: I haven't ever been to the forums except once, and that was when someone accused me of copying their moveset. I really think its gay when people think that you steal their movesets only because they have it, even though they don't know that you had it before them. I was accused for stealing an SD Heracross moveset from Smogon when theirs was the one that didn't have Facade, and then all of sudden it changes. Other than that, I have never read any threads on Serebii nor have I registered there.
Marriland: Haven't been here at all, unless I'm looking at the PokéDex. Serebii's my first stop when it comes to looking at a PokéDex though, so whatever.
Smogon: I've registered at Smogon, but I don't really read the threads often. Once in a while I'll go rate a team in the RMT section or play on shoddy (not sure if I should associate that with Smogon, but I guess I could).
Friendcodes: I've actually been more active here than any of the other listed sites, but I don't really know too many people here. It isn't a bad place, and it for some bizarre reason I actually started posting more often on this site in the past month or two. I registered in October or something, but Friendcodes happens to be one of the two sites that I visit the most nowadays. The other site I'm referring to... well I can't advertise and I wouldn't want to anyway, but I've been there for more than a year and that's where I developed most of my experience with the D/P Pokémon battling meta game.

If you decided to skip the block of text, this place is smaller, which is why I like it. I don't like my name flying all around and would rather keep my identity a secret / surprise, because when I get beaten someone's going to start bragging and it really ••••es me off. Oh wait, that had nothing to do with the big block of text. I like Friendcodes the most :D Really, not saying that to make you guys happy. Well, out of the options posted Friendcodes is the best. Alright I have to stop.
