For those EXPERIENCED players - 08-22-08

I came up with a weird sort of combination set, and would like some feedback on the potential success of this, or if it has been done before, etc. I don't feel the need to list EV's or natures seeing as this is only speculation:

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Baton Pass
Spore
Leech Seed
Mean Look

Passes to...

Yanmega @ ???
Protect
Detect
U-turn
Whirlwind/Toxic/ ???

Trap a pokemon with Mean Look, hold on with sash, Spore them. Proceed to Leech Seed then pass to Yanmega, who will constantly rotate between Protect and Detect to gain several turns of Speed Boost, or, drain the opponent with Leech Seed. U-turn back when the poke is finished off. If finding it impossible to take down a particular threat, Whirlwind them out and U-turn on the next poke. Maybe toxic would be better paired with Leech Seed? Not sure.

Doesn't sound too promising to me, but hey, I'm no expert.

it seems like a decent strategy except if you get caught in a double battle

Re: For those EXPERIENCED players - 08-22-08

It's a single battle strategy only. Whirlwind could also work in there's Stealth Rock and such in play, that's a benefit I forgot to mention.

Because I'm pretty sure no other single pokemon can learn all 4 of those moves, so I require Smeargle.

First of all, protect and detect on are the same counter. Which means the whole 'rotate' thing is pure fantasy...

Secondly, mean look sleep pass is a great tactic...you would go a lot further with it you pass to someone that can setup ....rather than yanmega who is more than adequate just doing its own thing.

Yea find something that will set up on it. Yanmega is more of a lead poke. If you can get something in and then swords dance/ calm mind/ curse or w/e your trying to do this strategy could work pretty well. I might actually give it a try for myself ^_^

Never tested it, although that figures. Didn't know that, thanks. But still...something to replace detect might still work.

Re: For those EXPERIENCED players - 08-23-08

Why would you U-turn after you set up so much. Also, smergle is kinda slow, think it will go first after a 1hp sash?
