Get me back into the know?

Hey guys. I'm thinking of trying to come back into playing Pokemon, but I need to be updated on a few things first.

The last time I played Pokemon properlly was approximately a year ago, so any kind of clause changes, or tier changes I need to be updated about pretty hastily, lol.

Also, my friend lent me some EV'd pokemon, but on the 'Met Level' it says 'Apparently Met', and I've never seen that before. Soemthing makes me think that it could be hacked. Could anyone let me know if that means a Pokemons been hacked or not?

well erm the entire metagame has shifted since a year ago..way more complicated

well ppl bring out pretty much the same pokes wihich r easily read,for instance breloom will always spore

apparently met" it says that when you received a traded pokemon. you should check the location of the pokemon to see if it can be caught legitimately in that location.

and basically. as far as the changes in the metagame, you'll just have to battle people, but it gets pretty predictable.

Here's Smogon's Strategy Pokedex; it'll tell you what tier any pokemon you're looking for is in, as well as some basic movesets and EV Spreads for whatever you're planning to use. I'd also suggest checking out the Stark Mountain Smogon forum for warstories, debates, and anything that could help you get up to speed on the current state of the metagame.
