Some people can read japanese. I'm also getting the japanese HG as soon as it comes out, even though I can't understand, it shouldn't be too different from G/S. Well, about the game, this is what I'm expecting:
~ Great graphics (this as been seen in the images/scans/video, the animations look pretty nice, and there is a wind effect and all)
~ More Wi-fi stuff (it would be great if they made the Bug Contest Wi-fi, but I doubt it)
~ Post E4/Kanto stuff (just like FR/LG, who had the Sevii Islands, I hope HG/SS has some new places to explore, with maybe some 3/4 gen pokémon to catch)
~ Improved storyline (this is probably going to happen, the originals were pretty empty)
~ Pc (so we can deposit items)
~ Mother buying stuff (just like in G/S where she used to buy dolls)
~ Improved gym leaders (increased pokémon levels, because they were just too easy)
That's about it, I also want nice songs (G/S had the best BGM to me) and some sort of GTS. About a Battle Frontier, I wouldn't say it is needed. It would be a nice addition but it would eat some memory, so I guess a Battle Tower with some other things is fine (Crystal, if I remember correctly). About the Pokémon following you, I find it cool. A lot of people (and I mean some of them are already saying they won't play the game because of that) don't like it. I guess it's fine IF it's just the starter. But having a pokémon stalk you all the time can get boring, so if they add the option to get him back to the pokéball, that wouldn't be bad at all.
Anyway, take a look at these pictures from the CoroCoro magazine. Some of them are of great quality. I got them from Serebii:

Choosing starter in lab (nice sprite for Chikorita, btw).

New Bark Town and you can see the Menu in the Touch Screen, which is a nice addition.
To compare:

Ecruteak City (4th gym) near the temple where the dogs are, if I'm not mistaken.

Near Azalea Town, I think. Take a look here:
