The Third Installment in the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Series should be a hit coming out in early 2009. Many Fans have been anxious for this game for a long time playing other wi-fi games passing the time and continuing to play Pokemon Diamond over and over thinking of new strategies. I personally hoped for a Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Remake but whatever, I'm happy nevertheless. Discuss the rumors and I will update this thread and confirm if they are true in the coming 5-8 months.

Some more details:
-The start of the game runs differently with quicker confrontations with others
-The Police Officer's codename is "Handsome" people are still questioning who's side hes on
-The battle tower returns and is identical to the one in Pokemon DP
-The battle Factory from Emerald returns in Pokemon Platinum
-Over GTS, you can send mail to people. Friends? Random people? We don't know yet.
-In the new Wi-Fi room you can play friends in these games: Merry mime Junior where you control Mime Jr. on the ball the longest, Rapid Wobbuffet and the Swalot game
-The unknown sihlouhettes have been confirmed. Expect to hear news about them this coming month

It includes a lot of new details and shows you more changes in the game.

A bunch of news was released on Serebii.net today.
The game is officially confirmed along with some details:
Pokemon Platinum is going to be released September 13, 2008 in Japan.
You have to face Team Galactic once more, but it seems their plan and HQ have been stepped up a fair bit.
The Battle Frontier returns and is in Sinnoh's Battle Park.
The Wi-Fi area has been enhanced with various areas which support twenty people at a time.
The poffin making has taken a step up and has a new feature that involves a Swalot machine.
The Battle Recorder, an item seen with Shaymin's pictures last week, allows you to record battles that you hold and share them with your friends. This is done with a new and improved Global Trade Station.
Shaymin's Sky forme's ability is Serene Grace. It appears to focus more on Special Attack and Speed and can learn the move Air Slash.
Giratina's origin forme's ability is Levitate.
Conformation of new characters shown last month, one is a Team Galactic member and the other is part of the International police force and is hunting Team Galactic.

The Blue Sky blog has released more information today on Shaymin's transformation. To transform the legend into its sky form or ground form you must obtain Glacidia's Flower which is a key item that is given to you at a certain time in the game at Floaroma city.
You just select the item, then Shaymin and he'll change to either form.
More information about Shaymin's form will be released soon so stay tuned.

Click HERE for leaked pictures from Corocoro, the release looks promising now and I expect it to come out earlier than expected (September) in America. It looks great and I hope it brings the DS and Pokemon back to life.
That sounds kind of cool, But i also heard that they were going to name it Opal version, because Opal is already released in japan. I don't know what to believe until they actually announce it, Nice find though.

Volkner is not the Gym leader of Sunyshore city anymore
The Underground is now Wi-Fi Enabled
A New Island called 'Battle Island' is similar to Pokemon Emerald's Battle Frontier
Several new Pokemon forms are too exist like Giratina's, Regigigas and Shaymin having new abilites like Levitate.
