Any tips at all? ._.

I recently got Explorers of Time from Gamefly and thought it was going to be fairly easy and fun. Well, I am having a terrible time trying to play it. My main is Bulbasaur and sidekick is Totodile, and I have probably died about 5 or 6 times in just one mystery dungeon! I can't get through the one where you have to save Azurill from Drowzee (I can't remember if it has an actual name or not). At first Totodile also walked away and started battling someone else, which drove me insane, so I switched his tactics so he would stick with me. I thought that might have been the problem, but now he doesn't help me in battles at all! Last time I played 3 Pokemon were attacking me at the same time and Totodile just stood there and I died! Maybe I need to start over and get a better team or something? I just hate how Totodile hardly ever helps me at all, so I can't get any farther into the game!

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated, and karma will be given.

My partner helps too much. :P

If you don't want it to run off but still want it to help you, make sure its Tactic is set to "Let's go together." Also check its IQ and see it Exclusive Move User is checked. Also, go to the partner's moves and make sure that all the ones you want it to use are checked. That's worked for me.
