It's hard to forget the year that saw the release of 64-bit gaming in the form of the Playstation 2. Yes, the year where Nintendo sold its 100,000,000th Game Boy console. But the year shines brightest in our minds through the software released. From Pokemon Gold and Silver, which swept away all my generation's spare time, to Majora's Mask, Banjo-Tooie and Final Fantasy IX, which reassured that none of us were going to spend any family time for the holidays. So in retrospect, Y2K did end with technology ruling over man.
