Another RMT *shrugs* - 11-04-08

At A Glance:

__________________________________________________ ____________

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Naive : Blaze
48 Atk / 252 SpA / 208 Spe
Fake Out
Stealth Rock
Fire Blast
Close Combat

This set fulfills two purposes very well. It scares away and defeats Bronzong, as well as nullifes the Focus Sash on other suicidal leads. Fake Out first turn and then set up Stealth Rock allowing the sash to activate. Then I can hit with a Blaze boosted STAB fire blast or STAB close combat. I may decide to go with this as my lead instead:

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Naive : Blaze
100 Atk / 202 SpA / 208 Spe
Stealth Rock
ThunderPunch
Fire Blast
Mach Punch

The attack EV's allow me to hit standard bulkydos with ThunderPunch for 72.97% - 85.95% damage. I do 48.63% - 57.14% to Tentacruels and 47.51% - 56.15% to standard Starmies (although i dont have a chance against them). It also lets me OHKO Weavile leads with Mach Punch 100% of the time. With a set like this I gain coverage and I have another option to pass Swords Dances to. I found that in my testing on shoddy I was barely using Fake Out so I may as well replace it with something that gives me added coverage. I dunno opinions on which ape I should use are welcome.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Impish : Pressure
252 HP / 108 Def / 144 Atk
Substitute
Focus Punch
Fire Punch
Shadow Sneak

This is my physical wall and rapid spin blocker. Focus Punch deals with tyranitars and Fire Punch is for BP Scizors and other steels. Shadow Sneak is a nice STAB priority. Fire Punch deals atleast 90% damage to Scizors with the given EVs (which KOs after Life Orb damage) and Shadow sneak does well over half to standard gengars.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Careful : Serene Grace
252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Sp.Def
Zen Headbutt / Iron Head
Wish
U-Turn
Body Slam

This is my special wall. Jirachi also supports the rest of my team with Wish. Body Slam is to try and inflict paralysis on my opponent. U-turn is so I can hit and run ftw. It also helps me deal with psychics. I cant decide between Zen Headbutt and Iron Head. Iron head has a 60% chance to flinch and Zen Headbutt only has a 40% chance but Zen Headbutt allows me to cover more types *scratches head* Help please?

Swellow @ Toxic Orb
Jolly : Guts
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Facade
Aerial Ace / Brave Bird
U-Turn
Quick Attack

Pretty standard Guts abuse Swellow. STAB facade does epic damage to most pokemon. I can't decide between Aerial Ace and Brave Bird. Brave bird does more damage but the recoil damage scares me. I can U-turn out if something I can handle comes in and it also lets me hit psychics. Quick Attack is so I can deal with ghey priority users.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid : Natural Cure
160 HP / 132 SpA / 216 Spe
Rapid Spin
Surf
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

Basic Rapid Spinner and Mixape counter. It also counters gyarados and dragons very well.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Impish : Hyper Cutter
252 HP / 12 Atk / 28 Def / 218 Spe
Swords Dance
Baton Pass
Earthquake
Stone Edge

Covers my ground and electric weaknesses and then passes Swords Dances. Dusknoir and Swellow can become deadly after this guy passes a Swords Dance to either. This is also my Lucario counter. The Atk EV's allow me to OHKO Lucario with Earthquake. Stone Edge takes care of gyara, mence, and nites after a single SD boost. My nasty Ice weakness is covered by ape, jirachi, and starmie.

I think EmoJolteon will give out problems after Jirachi and or Dusknoir is gone.

It's a great team btw, it covers ur weakness pretty well.

Ok well in my opinion for Swellow take Ace over Brave Bird and for Jirachi take Iron Head over Zen Headbutt

I say go with this set instead. If you do end up going with the other one, why not switch Fire Blast for either Blaze Kick or Fire Punch and put more EVs into Atk and Speed? That way, all of your attacks get a power boost, and you're faster, and you still have a fire attack that's fairly powerful.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Impish : Pressure
252 HP / 108 Def / 144 Atk
Substitute
Focus Punch
Fire Punch
Shadow Sneak

Nice.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Careful : Serene Grace
252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Sp.Def
Zen Headbutt / Iron Head
Wish
U-Turn
Body Slam

I say go with Zen Headbutt. The only thing that it couldn't hit would be Dark types, in which you have U-Turn for. Iron Head is only good against Ice and Rock types, and doesn't do too well. Besides, with Jirachi's speed, it's doubtful you'll hit them first anyway.

Swellow @ Toxic Orb
Jolly : Guts
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Facade
Aerial Ace / Brave Bird
U-Turn
Quick Attack

Go with Aerial Ace. The face is, with poison dealing damage every turn, you want Swellow to live as long as possible. You might also want to change Quick Attack with Roost; since QA is a normal type, it isn't going to be hitting others very hard. Even with 90 base power, QA isn't going to deal a lot of damage since Normal types don't hit for Super Effective damage on anything at all. At least with Roost, you heal the HP lost from poison.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid : Natural Cure
160 HP / 132 SpA / 216 Spe
Rapid Spin
Surf
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

I'd say throw in Recover somewhere, but it's really up to you. You don't have any other electric or ice attacks, so Ice Beam and Thunderbolt are kind of needed here.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Impish : Hyper Cutter
252 HP / 12 Atk / 28 Def / 218 Spe
Swords Dance
Baton Pass
Earthquake
Stone Edge

Pretty good. Just make sure you pull Gliscor out when you need to; Ice Punch or Ice Shard from Weavile is pretty deadly.

I honestly don't know why I bother posting my teams here when all I get are one line rates. Only one rate looks like it took a little time and I thank you for that but the rest of you =/

Re: Another RMT *shrugs* - 11-05-08

not a bad team! 9/10 i would say. im not sure about swelow though i would swap him for a different bird type pokemon like staraptor. or maybe another type in general like maybe you could use a normal type like snorlax.
i like the team so far (love the starmie!) just use my advice!

Could you maybe explain your "advice" a little better? Instead of saying "switch to a different bird or a different normal type". That doesn't help me at all.
