Help with Lucario

I'm very slowly going to make a team. Probably not a very good one but I'm going to try. The first Pokemon I have is Lucario, and I do want to use this specific one because he's shiny. I'm getting the feeling my team may be more about looks... Anyway, I'd like some help on what to do.

Hardy nature

Moveset:
Dark Pulse
Aura Sphere
Dragon Pulse
Psychic

I don't know what item to give him or if that moveset is even halfway decent (probably not). So, any suggestions would be welcome. He's not trained yet, so I can switch the EVs around too if what I have is just plain dumb.

There you go,use Shadow Ball>Dark Pulse to get the Ghost+Fighting combo <---that my friend is the best combo in the game.Also check this bad boy's IVs before choosing a set (btw he has a neutral nature so he can use either SD or Specs).If you want help making your team PM me so you make it faster :D

Thats a good moveset, except for Psychic which is a decent move. and from the looks of things with Lucario's speed IV's only at 3 i'd recommend giving it Vacuum Wave. However, don't switch Dark Pulse for Shadow Ball. There's no reason for the switch becuz both attacks take out the same types; Psychic and Ghost, while Dark Pulse is able to hit normal switch-ins when Shadow ball can't. So keep Dark Pulse.

you could always ditch dragon pulse for susbstiute&give him a peteya berry to pack a extra hard punch when his hp is low or use Life orb&keep all attack moves.

ivs are pathetic try to go for something higher and i like to see a mix lucario set

You're definitely going to re-raise for a different nature (and at least a higher Speed IV, maybe not 31, but WAY more than 3). Since Lucario's a base 90 Speed Pokemon anyway, it's doubtful that it will outrun much, so you're better off with increasing it's Sp. Attack, and just Pass an Agility to it.

-Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball (Dark and Ghost hit about the same types, but the only real difference is reducing sp. defense or causing a flinch, and you're probably better off with reducing sp. def. since Lucario probably won't outrun anything)
-Aura Sphere/Vacuum Wave (Personally, I'd go with Aura Sphere; Vacuum Wave is good for a priority attack, but that's all, and with an Agility Passed to it, you're biggest worry will only be Scarfers)
-Psychic/Metal Screech (If you go with Vacuum Wave, Metal Screech may be better since it'll let Vacuum Wave hit harder than normally).
-HP Ground/Ice (Ground hits Fire types while Ice hits Dragons, Grass, and Ground types, so you're probably be better off with HP Ice than Ground)

First and foremost, you need to fix the nature. If you're running a mixed set, you'll probably want Mild or Rash, because you just need Close Combat to kill Blissey. If it's the special offensive like I'm seeing here, then you might as well vouch for Modest or Timid. Modest is good if you want the versatility of the Life Orb, but Timid allows you to out-speed a lot and retain a lot of power with Choice Specs. As for the moves...Aura Sphere and Dark Pulse provide perfect type coverage as it is, and Psychic really is only useful for anything that gets STAB on it. If it isn't necessarily helping your coverage, don't use it. Hidden Power Ice is a very good alternative. If you want to go that route, make sure the IVs for Attack and Defense are even numbers, and all the rest are odd; I believe that's what gets you Hidden Power Ice.

Why is everyone saying use Dark Pulse>Shadow Ball?I know it gets similar coverage but there is the key word similar,Ghost+Fighting is the best type combo in the game,hitting everything for at least neutral damage.Even you Ballade,I mean I thought you knew that already.
