I understand it, but I'm not an expert. - 01-22-09

I'm still trying to figure out team construction. I know about all there is about making a team after knowing what to make, but I can't decide how to build my team. Is it better to have a strategy throughout the team (like weather effects or something), to have an all-out power team that covers all of the bases, or to have a team with Pokémon that stress Attack, Defense, and annoying the crap out of the opponent?

It varies for each person. Some prefer nothing but sweepers with little support, others prefer lots of support. Find out what some good combos are, see if you like them, and then try to figure out how to put them in your team. For instance, a good Baton Passer that can attack or set up Stealth Rock would be Gliscor, so you could come up with a set that stats-up, sets up SR, and then either attacks or Passes the boosts. There are tons and tons of possible combos to be discovered, so for now, just stick with the basics, and decide what works well FOR YOU. Some people can handle sweeping teams because of their selection in members and attacks, while others have horrible luck. It also takes a large amount of prediction to pull off a victory, so if you're not that great at it, then a nothing-but-sweeping team probably wouldn't be the choice for you.

Thanks to AnaBanana for the sig :D

Need help changing my profile and some ideas for a theme and new avatar, as well as a possible new sig pic. Message me if you'd like to help.
